Its with regret that I have to announce the closure of Postershizzle. Work commitments and my 2 year old daughter mean that I just cant give up enough time to keep this site as current as I’d like to, and frankly there are better sites out there that do the same thing.

Most of you will already be readers of these websites but just in case you aren’t you need to bookmark the following….

SlashFilm – Peter and the Slashfilm team do a great job of making this site the best all round movie site on the www, writer Germain Lussier has a lot of love for Movie Themed artwork.

OMGPosters and InsideTheRockPosterFrame – The big players and for good reason. Not only covering Movie themed art but all types of Gig and Art prints and they do a great job of it. I’m sure the guys running those sites dont actually sleep !

Reelizer – As far as reference sites go they don’t come much better.

Posterocalypse – This site but better, and the site I will be reading as much as I can. I don’t personally know the dude who runs Posterocalypse but he writes in a great style that I can only aspire to. Always doing a great job of analyzing the work he’s posting.

Film On Paper – For those of you who prefer to hang the official deal on your walls there is no better Movie Poster site than Film On Paper. A labor of love by Eddie Shannon that has had literally thousands of man hours poured into it. An amazing collection and a fantastic showcase of Movie posters through the ages.

Thanks to everyone who has read the site over the last couple of years and to the great people I’ve met through it.

News from Matt at Cinema Overdrive of a great new double bill print with Danny Miller and James Rheem Davis doing the honours. Here’s the details….

Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year and we’ve always loved presenting classic horror movies on the big screen in 35mm.  In particular we love to do double features, and we’re extremely proud to present our first ever double feature poster!

On Saturday, October 8th, Cinema Overdrive will be presenting a killer double feature of Eurotrash giallo films and we’ve picked two of our all time faves: Dario Argento’s DEEP RED and Juan Piquer Simon’s PIECES.  We weren’t sure what we wanted to do in terms of a poster for these films, but luckily for us Danny Miller and James Rheem Davis made that decision for us.

These two extremely talented artists had been discussing for some time how they wanted to collaborate on a project, and they felt there was no better opportunity than this double feature.  So without further ado, Cinema Overdrive proudly presents the DEEP RED & PIECES combo poster, featuring artwork from both James Rheem Davis AND Danny Miller!

We’re pleased to showcase a new artist today and thank the fantastic Posterocalypse for the heads up on Grzegorz Domaradzki’s work.

My work often tends to veer towards darker themes, so when I was presented with the chance to pay tribute to Romero’s classic, I jumped at the opportunity. Conceptually, I wanted to do something different, something that wouldn’t be obviously apparent upon first glance. I arranged the composition in a way that the characters worked together to create the shape of a skull, the symbol of death. It took time to get just right, but in the end the result is just as I had visualized.

Some great prints up for sale over at Mondo today. I think Jeff Proctor’s House by the Cemetery is my favorite of the bunch although I’ve got to say I wouldn’t be sad to see any of them hanging on my walls.

Spoke Art is proud to present the third and final round of our nationally touring Quentin vs. Coen art show. From New York City, to San Francisco, the exhibit of original art and prints is finally settling down in the pop culture mecca of the world, Los Angeles.

Opening this Saturday, October 1st, and on view until Sunday, October 2nd, Quentin vs. Coen pits together some of the most iconic filmmakers of our time in a Battle Royale with Cheese.
