‘Reefer Madness’ by @Zoltron
I’m a big fan of Zoltron and I really dig this new piece he’s done for the Red Vic Movie House for their Reefer Madness screening (Top marks for screening!). Goes up today on his site. Pics and a print process video below.
This is our modern take on the 1938 propaganda-heavy, exploitation film on the evils of the roadside weeds known as REEFER! #16 in the Red Vic poster series, celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the last original movie houses in california.
the poster’s evocative imagery shows exactly what happens when young girls are exposed to the evils of marijuana, known in some circles as “satan’s lawn clippings.” Marihuana is sometimes referred to as “The Weed” or “Smokable flowers of pure self loathing and regret” and according to this poster artist, it is one plant not to be trifled with. Hand printed, oil based silkscreen posters. 5 colors on matte stock. 18″ X 24″ – signed by Zoltron, Dave Hunter and Ron Donovan, from a run of 150. $45.
Raging Bull by Zoltron
Zoltron just blows me away with every print and this one is no exception. Raging Bull for the Red Vic is a 4 color, hand printed silkscreen poster. Printed by Dave Hunter, Ron Donovan and Zoltron at the legendary Hangar 18, in Oakland California.

Quick update from the man himself
Raging Bull. Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull affected me so heavily when I first saw it. Honestly, I think it has affected me everytime I’ve seen it. When I was invited to do the poster, there was one image that resonated in my mind. It was round 13 of the famous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Jake La Motta was up against the ropes, tunnel vision and silence before being pummeled to a pulp by Sugar Ray. It was a heavy scene. I wanted to make an emotional piece. Hangar 18 kicked all sorts of ass on the printing. 4 colors, with rich textures and multiple diluted greys making it appear almost like a watercolor. 16″ X 22″ – 14 pt, crazy ass, super thick 14 pt. glossy stock. Top shelf oil based inks. The first 25 orders will ship with a very limited edition, artist signed and numbered Raging Bull laminate.
Fantastic Mr Fox by Zoltron

I loved this book when I was a kid and Wes Anderson, who is a certified genius by the way, made it into a perfect film. I was honored to take a stab creating a screen print for the showing and I spent some time trying to do it justice. Any Foxophiles out there will pick up on the details. (The blueberries laced with 10 ml of high potency sleeping powder. My Bean’s star adorned apples, mmmm Goose crackles…) The film is stop motion perfection. Big thanks to Dave Hunter and Ron Donovan for inviting me along. (We hand printed 100 of these with 10 ml of high potency oil based inks.)
