‘Logans Run’ by Tim Doyle
New print from Mr Doyle today by way of The Astor Theatre, I love the colors on this one !
Here’s the good work from Tommygood
You would think living in an ecologically balanced, hermetically sealed dome paradise where ones only concern is pleasure would be a pretty sweet deal… except for that one little catch. Once you hit 30 years of age you either ascend heavenward in a strange ritual that ends with your obliteration or alternatively you make a run for it and get hunted down by guys with bad haircuts, worse outfits and who have terrible aim of laser gun’s called Sandmen…
You’ve got to love Logan’s Run!
The 1976 sci-fi classic is filled with all the fun, campiness and out of date special effects that make for a damn good time in the cinema. To celebrate the September screening of Logan’s Run at the Astor Theatre we commissioned old faithful, Mr Tim Doyle, to create one of his screen printed gems. As always he delivered and we can proudly present the regular and variant editions in all their colorful glory.
Logan’s Run will be available at the TommyGood store this week, get on the mailing list or follow our twitter account @thisistommygood for details.

New print from Mr Doyle today, here’s the good word….
Austin Books and Comics has yet again asked me to do a print for their ‘Hot And Nerdy’ Film series hosted at the Blue Starlite Drive In here in Austin Texas!
This print is 18×24 and is signed and numbered in an edition of 325. There is a Blue ‘Night Falls on the Federation’ version that is signed and numbered in an edition of 150 as well.
The print is available starting TODAY in-store at Austin Books, and at the screening this Thursday at the Drive-In.
If you don’t live here in the Austin area, Austin Books is compiling a waiting list and will be distributing them on a first-come first-served basis to every one who sends them an email. You can email the directly through their store HERE. (Click the ‘Contact Us’ link at the top toolbar.)
There…don’t you feel better now? In case you didn’t know, this is based on the famous French painting, “Liberty Leading the People” by Delacroix. I was really surprised at how little I had to do to substitute in everyone’s favorite characters stomping a mud-hole in everyone else’s favorite characters.
May the Schwartz be with you.
‘Clerks’ by Tim Doyle
Kevin Smiths finest gets the Mr Doyle treatment. I think it looks great. Here’s the good word…
Again, I was commissioned to produce a poster for one of my favorite movies for my favorite comic book store- Austin Books!
This Thursday, Austin Books and Comics is flying in Brian ‘Dante’ O’Halloran to be present at a screening of the original CLERKS film at the Blue Starlite Drive-In Theater here in Austin, TX.
With this poster, instead of focusing on one iconic scene, or do the floating-head-thing, I wanted to an Animal House poster thing where you show a bunch of stuff and scenes happening all at once, like the whole movie happening in one image.
Along with the color version, I wanted to do a Black and White variant to more echo the appearance of the film, which is in (duh) black and white. We actually printed the split fountain in the sky with metallic silver to give it that extra ‘punch’. Needs to be seen in person to be believed! (well, if you can’t imagine metallic ink, that is.)
The regular edition print is 16×26 and is signed and numbered in an edition of 325. The variant is in an edition of 125.
Want one? WELL- if you live in Austin, I’d come to the screening, as Brian will be there signing autographs and all that. Not in Austin? Email or Phone Austin Books and Comics and they’ll get you on a waiting list. Any prints NOT sold over the weekend will be given out on a first-come first-served basis.
You can find Austin Books and Comics’ contact info on their site, HERE. Make sure you tell ‘em who sent you!
A note about flipping- since these are limited to locals-only for the first few days, there will inevitably be some popping up on eBay before Austin Books can start taking care of people on the waiting list. My advice? Don’t get it on eBay. WAIT. Austin Books doubled their qty from the Transformers poster, so there SHOULD be enough to go around (for a little bit, at least). I’m not against people re-selling my prints, but I’d hate for someone to get burned for a hundred bucks or so only to find out they could have gotten it if they waited a couple of days. Deal? Deal.
Thank you all, and thanks to Austin Books and Comics for the great gig!

Transformers: The Movie by Tim Doyle
News of a great new Transformers print (with variant) from Mr Doyle today.
The print was created for Austin Books and Comics upcoming screening of the only Transformers movie that counts !
Quite how Mr Bay hasn’t managed to make a better movie than the 1986 original, with a combined budget of over half a billion dollars is a mystery, but at least we still have the original and now this great companion print to go with it.
I’m really happy to have been able to do this print. It feels like I’ve been drawing Tranformers in one way or another for my ENTIRE life. There’s a file full of old Crayon drawings of Optimus Prime in my parent’s house right now. I loves me some robots.
I am constantly and pleasantly surprised by Hollywood’s restraint in not making a Transformers movie SINCE 1986. It’s really charming that this great property has been allowed to exist pure and undamaged in the memories of everyone who grew up in the 1980′s. I mean, can you imagine if they let some dumb-ass lowest-common denominator director dirtbag take a huge dump all over Transformers? And if they cast some schlub with a face like a foot in the lead, and tried to ‘sex it up’ with some bomb-shell in a crappy tacked on romantic story?
Good thing that didn’t happen.
DID. NOT. HAPPEN.
SO- you can imagine how happy
Both feature metallic silver ink, and the Variant is printed w/ Silver, Gold, AND Copper ink.
Both prints measure 16×26 and are signed and numbered.
Austin Books and Comics is located at 5002 North Lamar here in Austin, and will open at 9am on Wednesday.
You can visit them on the web HERE.
They don’t have many, and a few will possibly be held back for the screening itself, so if you miss out, don’t despair!
