‘The Royal Tenenbaums’ by Rich Pellegrino
Rich has been producing some great work for Spoke Art and Gallery 1988 over the recent months. Today sees the release of this great looking Tenenbaums character piece. I’m particularly fond of Pagoda !
The print measures 18″ x 20″ (17.5″ x 17.5″ image size), comes in an edition of 200 and is signed and numbered. The print has been produced on a Italian produced 300# cold press watercolor paper with all archival inks, an edition of 200 priced at $50. Available here – http://spoke-art.com/
Gallery 1988 presents ‘The Road To Shermer: A Tribute To John Hughes’
Gallery 1988 Venice recently held their tribute to the late great John Hughes, and it produced some great new prints. There are too many to list here but I’ve included some of my favorites below.
As ever for those with deep pockets check out the original work for sale here. Those who are feeling the effects of the recession can grab a print here.
‘Marty McFly’ & ‘Doc Brown’ by Rich Pellegrino
Rich Pellegrino is back with a couple more prints following the success of his previous movie themed work.
Both Giclee prints measure 11 3/4 x 16 inches and are limted to 100 each. Signed and numbered these are available at Gallery 1988 now for $75. For those with deep pockets Gallery 1988 also have two paintings for $550.
Unfortunatley these are pickup from L.A only.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – October 26th, 2010 – Spoke Art is proud to present “Bad Dads” an art show tribute to the films of Wes Anderson. In addition to catchy soundtracks, sharp dialogue and effortless cinematography, one of the main underlying themes to many of the iconic and cult-status films of Wes Anderson is the incorporation of characters with family issues, notably father issues. Please join us this Saturday, October 30th from 8PM to midnight at LoPo Gallery in San Francisco as we unveil our latest show, as well as San Francisco’s newest art space, with a very special opening reception and Halloween party. “Bad Dads” will be on display till Saturday, November 27th and is free and open to the public.
“Bad Dads” is a group show culling from some of Wes Anderson’s most memorable and loved scenes, characters, concepts and themes, realized by some of the new contemporary art scene’s quickest rising and established stars. With an all star lineup representing nearly seventy of our favorite pop surrealist painters, screen printers, street and new contemporary artists working in the United States and beyond; artists include such notable guests as Ana Bagayan, Munk One, Caia Koopman, Dave MacDowell, Carlos Ramos, Dabs and Myla, Sandi Calistro, Tim Doyle, Kevin Tong, Akira Beard, Greg Gossel, Shannon Bonatakis, Robert Bowen, Dave Correia, Jason Vivona, Zoltron and many, many more. With close to 70 artists participating, expect a full range of artistic mediums, styles and price points.
In keeping with Spoke Art’s vision of making art both accessible and affordable, many of the works from the show have been produced into limited edition fine art prints. Both original and printed works will be made available for purchase through the Spoke Art website immediately following the show’s opening. A special buyer and press preview will be hosted from 6-8PM the night of the opening, complimentary food and beverage will be provided.
LoPo Gallery is San Francisco’s newest art space, located on Polk Street between Post Sutter. The entrance to LoPo is through the adjoining Space Gallery, which is located at 1141 Polk St. Boasting multiple rooms, exposed rafters and antique hardwood floors, LoPo Gallery is set to become San Francisco’s newest art hot spot and destination. Due to liquor license restrictions, LoPo Gallery is a 21+ venue.
As an added bonus, “Just One Bite” an exhibition of zombie themed artwork will be on view concurrently opening in the adjoining Space Gallery. Curated by Jason Vivona, “Just One Bite” features the likes of Brian Henderson, Helen Bayley, Bo Hemlich, Justin Lovato, Ryan De La Hoz and a virtual mass grave of fun!
