‘Deep Red’ and ‘Pieces’ Double Bill by Danny Miller & James Rheem Davis
News from Matt at Cinema Overdrive of a great new double bill print with Danny Miller and James Rheem Davis doing the honours. Here’s the details….
Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year and we’ve always loved presenting classic horror movies on the big screen in 35mm. In particular we love to do double features, and we’re extremely proud to present our first ever double feature poster!
On Saturday, October 8th, Cinema Overdrive will be presenting a killer double feature of Eurotrash giallo films and we’ve picked two of our all time faves: Dario Argento’s DEEP RED and Juan Piquer Simon’s PIECES. We weren’t sure what we wanted to do in terms of a poster for these films, but luckily for us Danny Miller and James Rheem Davis made that decision for us.
These two extremely talented artists had been discussing for some time how they wanted to collaborate on a project, and they felt there was no better opportunity than this double feature. So without further ado, Cinema Overdrive proudly presents the DEEP RED & PIECES combo poster, featuring artwork from both James Rheem Davis AND Danny Miller!
DEEP RED & PIECES Double Feature poster
(Blood Red Regular edition- 20″ x 30″, each hand numbered and signed by Danny Miller. 70 prints total. $30.00 each) (limit 2 per person)…and here’s a quick snapshot of the finished poster. They came out great!
…but there’s more! In the spirt of Halloween and Autumn, we have an orange color variant as well!
DEEP RED & PIECES Double Feature poster
(Halloween Orange variant edition- 20″ x 30″, each hand numbered and signed by Danny Miller. 35 prints total. $45.00 each) (limit 1 per person)For those of you planning on attending the screening on Saturday evening, both versions of the poster will be available at the show and you’ll have first crack. Showtime is at 9:30pm, and we’ll be there approx. 45 minutes early for poster sales. Posters will also be on sale at intermission and after the show.

The Machines Are Winning – A Tribute To Sidney Lumet
Jay Shaw (Kingdom of Nonsense) and John Vogl (The Bungaloo) recently asked 17 artists to create posters to honour Mr Sidney Lumet for their upcoming ‘The Machines Are Winning – A Tribute To Sidney Lumet’ show. Out of all the prints seen so far Jay’s Serpico is my standout favourite of the bunch.
The quality of the work produced is great and for those close enough you can see it for yourself starting Friday 9th of September at The Laundry on Lawrence in Denver. Remaining pieces from the show will be sold online shortly afterwards so make sure you sign up for the mailing list at Kingdom of Nonsense for updates.
In the meantime check out the work below……
