Mondo Remodel = Metal Stout !

Some big news from Mondo today..If you live in Austin you’re in for a treat !

If you’ve been following the blog or been by the shop the last few weeks, you’ve most likely seen some changes being made to the space. Well, we’re going to stay late into the morning putting the finishing touches on everything so we can reopen tomorrow, June 4th. To celebrate the remodel, we are finally releasing the all metal variant of Tyler Stout’s IRON MAN 2 poster.

These came out beautifully and Tyler even stopped by D&L to sign the posters himself! These will strictly be Austin exclusives. We will not be taking phone orders and we will not ship them. Doors open up at 5pm so get here early. We have a very limited amount of these on hand and we expect them to move quickly! If you have questions, email store@mondotees.com.

Earlier this month, the Alamo held the show of all shows at the Paramount theater here in Austin. Not only did we show UHF to two sold out crowds, we showed UHF to two sold out crowds with Director Jay Levey and Weird Al Yankovic in person! I’ve been to a ton of Alamo shows in my time and in all honesty, this was top 5. You haven’t been around or experienced fandom until you’ve seen over 1,000 people raising spatulas in the air.

To commemorate the event, we worked with Jay and Al and came up with the poster you see below. It’s on sale right now and if you click HERE, you can purchase said poster.

I know how much it sucks not being able to attend an event that you REALLY wanted to go to because you don’t live in Austin, so with all you outta towners in mind, I decided to do something special with this poster release. Before Al and Jay left, I had them sign 4 copies of this poster that I will randomly insert into orders. No catch…order a poster and you might get a signed one. Your chances of getting a signed copy are about 1 in 25 so good luck and if you do end up with one, send us a shot of it framed!

The Warriors By Ken Taylor

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Warriors fan. I’ve loved all the artwork from Alamo/Mondo but I really think they are flogging a dead horse now. Did we really need another round of Warriors prints ? It’s a shame because both the new prints are great but I’m not sure the buying public are in need of anymore Warriors work ! What do you think ?

Anyway here’s a great print from Ken Taylor, This measures 12″x36″ is printed by D&L Screen Printing and has an edition of 200. Available for $65 from Mondo now.

Iron Man 2 by Mike Saputo

Also from Mondo today is another Iron Man 2 print this time by Mike Saputo . I think he did a great job, words form the man himself.

I was asked to do an Iron Man 2 poster for the exclusive screening at the Alamo Drafthouse on April 26. Naturally I jumped at the chance. The deadline was tight, but it came out pretty good I think. It’s a 24×36 6 color screenprint.

Iron Man 2 by Tyler Stout

Stout never fails ! Once again a great piece from Tyler. These were up last week at the Drafthouse screening but a few more are up today on Mondo Tees. Iron Man 2 is a 6 color screenprint with metallics and measures 24″×36″ on cream paper, edition of 515. Also available a 7 Color Variant with glow in the dark inks edition of 130. Printed by D&L Screenprinting.

Here we have a fantastic set of 4 TMNT prints from the always impressive Rhys Cooper for the Alamo Drafthouse. Each poster measures 12″ by 36″ was an edition of 160 and printed by D&L. Sadly now all sold out.
